Hull's Proclamation
American General Hull warned Canada inhabitants that America would invade in order to battle with Britain. Canada was not allowed to join with the British in battle.

British General Brock was killed while Americans moved back with reinforcements for Fort George after success of battle.

Battle of Lacolle Mills
Lt. Colonel Charles De Salaberry's militia with Native allies repelled Major-General Dearborn and his troops from entering Southern Canada. The U.S. Navy gained control of Lake Ontario, which made the British remain in Kingston and York.

Battle of Beaver Dams
Laura Secord risked her life to warn British troops that the Americans were planning an attack. Lt. Colonel Charles Boerstler were sent from Fort George with 500 troops to Brigadier General Vincent, but Lt. James Fitzgibbon made Boerstler surrender. British victory.

Battle at Lake Erie
U.S. Captain Oliver Perry led nine American ships to battle six British warships of Lake Erie. The battle forced the British to abandon Detroit ensuring U.S. control over Lake Erie.

Battle of Thames
Major General William Harrison pursued General Henry Procter after his escape from Detroit. They met on the Thames River where the British were quickly outnumbered, even with their Native allies, and admitted defeat. Native Chief Tecumseh was killed, which made most tribes abandon their alliances with the British.

Battle of Chateauguay
Hampton was stopped in march to Montreal by Lt. Colonel Charles de Salaberry. This battle was filled with scare tactics and with the help of alliances the American troops retreated. Lt. Colonel de Salaberry's positions along the river prevented Hampton from crossing the river for reinforcements.

Battle at Lundy's Lane
This battle took place a mile west of Niagra Falls and marked the end of U.S. invasion of Canada. With the British defeated in the Battle of Chippewa U.S. General Jacob Brown established at Queenston with General Winfield Scott. British General Phineas Riall moved to Lundy Lane with General Drummond. After hours of battle both sides were too tired to continue, so the war ended in a draw.

Burning of White House
British troops entered Washington D.C and burned the White House in retaliation against the attack of the city of York in Ontario, Canada in June.

During the Battle of Plattsburg Thomas Macdonough forced British squadron to abandon seige of U.S. Fort and retreat to Canada. Victory from possible invasion led to peace negotiations.

Treaty of Ghent
The Treaty of Ghent was signed to formally end the War of 1812. The terms of agreement allowed all conquered and lost territory to be returned to its original owner before the war began.
