    During the invasion of India, the Turkic ruler Timur loaded his camels with as much hey and wood as they could carry and set them on fire sending them running into the ranks of the opposing 120 war elephants. The elephants panicked and stormed back towards their own lines creating carnage and allowing Timur to seize the advantage.

    The army wanted to use bats for atomic bombs. the bats were perfect because they could carry twice there weight. They would strap the bomb to the bats and put them in the area they wanted to blow up.

    During the great war, US army put common garden slugs in the trenches to tell if the mustard gas was in the air. If the slugs were discomfortable and hiding then the soldiers would put there gas masks on.

    during the great war the armys would train large rats to detect TNT. The rats would sniff out the landmines and scratch on the ground where the mine was so that the humans knew that it the land mine was there

    marines would also use sea lions and they were trained to put clamps on other swimmer feet.

    During the cold war the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency launched operation Kitty it had cats surgically implanted with bugging devices and sent in undetected to eavesdrop on Soviet. The first mission failed because the cat was sadly got ran over and the $15 million operation was abandoned shortly after.

    During the world war 1 solders would put glowwarms in jars and put it in the trenches and use then as a light. They said that the 10 glowwarms would light up just like a street light. People would collect thousands of them.

    In world war one they used arngy bees as a booby traps everywhere, both sides used this. what they did is that they had a trip wire and that would drop the bee hive when it got triggered.

    During Spanish Civil War pilots attached fragile supplies to the turkeys, then they would fly off being a parachutes which could also be eaten by the defenders.

    In Britain an award was created to honour those heroes of the animal kingdom who have carried out remarkable duties in the most desperate of times. The PDSA Dickin medal recognised the animals’, 64 have been presented, 54 of those between 1943 and 1949. In total, 32 pigeons, 28 dogs, 3 horses and 1 cat have received a Dickin medal.
