    Birth
    Walt was born on December 5 1901 in the Hermosa part ofChicago Illinois. He was one of 5 siblings. He lived most of his childhood in Marceline, Missouri where he drew, painted and sold pictures to frinds and family.
  • 1917- Teen Life

    In 1917 Walt dropped out of highschool to be in the army. After bein denied for being underage he joined the Red Cross and went to France for a year to drive an ambulance.
  • Walt creates his own animation bussiness

    A little while after becoming a newpaper artist after coming back to Kansas City,Walt opened his own animation business. In 1923 the studio had been in debt and he was forced to declare bankruptcy.
  • Disney Brothers Studio

    In 1924 Walt moved to Hollywood and created Disney Brothers Studios. He partnered with his brother Roy and friend Iwerks. They contracted two animations Alice in Cartoonland and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
  • Marrige

    In 1925 Walt hired an ink and paint artist. After a brief courtship he married her. Her name was Lillian Bounds.
  • Mickey Mouse

    Mickey Mouse
    Walt had created his first sound filled Mickey film that didn't fail. The film was called Steamboat Willie and became a sensation.
  • Flowers and Trees

    In 1929 while Mickey had already been a thing, Disney created Silly Symphonies which included Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto.The animated short called Flowers and Trees ended up winning an Oscar.

    In 1937 Disney created Snow White th first full length animated film. It premiered in Los Angelos on December 21 and won 8 Oscars.
  • Creations

    Creations
    Throughout the 40s, 50s, and 60s Walt created most of his famous animations. Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Sleeping Beauty are just a few out of the many he created during that time period.
  • On Strike

    In 1939 a new campus for Walt Disney Studios opened. Sadly in 1941 Disney animators went on strike which resulted in alot of people resigning. Thankfully the company picked back up over the years and he eventually created Cinderella one of his most famous creations in 1950.

    In 1955, the first Disney themepark opened in Anaheim,Califonia. Costing $17 million dollars an having some opening day mishaps it became a great place for children an adults.
  • Mary Poppins

    Mary Poppins
    In 1964 Disney created his last major success. The film was Mary Poppins. It mixed live action and animation.
  • Death

    On December 15 1966 Walt died. The cause was lung cancer. His body was cremated. After his death his brothr continued withth plams an built Disney World in Florida.
