    Alice Comedies were a series of short films which featured Alice (a live-action girl) and Julius (an animated cat). Walt animated all the films by himself while his brother, Roy filmed all the live-action shots. Since they didn't have film to waste most scenes were only shot once. She then worked her way up to becoming Walt's personal secretary.     Mickey Mouse first appears in Steamboat Willie. Mickey Mouse was made when Walt's first character, Oswald, started tanking. So they shortened Oswald's ears, added some extra padding around the middle, ad turned the rabbit into a mouse. Mickey Mouse was orginally going to be called Mortimer.     Walt was diagnosed with lung cancer during the construction of Walt Disney World. He died before he could see the end result. Walt's brother, Roy, carried out the plans for the Florida theme park which opened on October 1, 1971.
