    Best selling book, By Sharon Creech published in 1994 by Harper Collins. It was the winner of the 1995 Newbery Medal. The novel was originally intended as a follow-up to Creech's previous novel Absolutely Normal Chaos; but, the idea was changed after she began writing it.

    Mom leaves

    Salamanca's mom left her and her father and left Bybanks, Kentucky and went to Lewiston, Idaho.

    They move

    Salamanca and her father move from Bybanks to Euclid because mother left.

    Dad meets Cadaver

    When they get to Euclid, Ohio, dad starts to talk to Mrs. Cadaver and salamanca has a bad feeling about her.

    Sal and Phoebe start talking about Mrs. Cadaver and Sal comes to realize that Cadaver means dead body, and that there is no Mr. Cadaver.

    Sal and Phoebe were at Mary Lou’s house when they read the message, it said “ Don’t judge a man until you’ve walked two moons in his moccasins.” After they read the message they went back to Phoebes house and saw that Mrs. Winterbottom was acting strangely about the message

    Sal, Gram, and Gramps made it to the Illinois state line and noticed a native Indian festival and Sal noticed that there were moccasins on their feet which reminded her of the message and the lunatic
