    Sir Charles Wheatstone was the first to describe stereopsisand was awarded the Royal Medal of the Royal Society.
    The research demonstrated that the brain combines two photographs (one eye viewing each) of the same object taken from different points to make the image appear to have a sense of depth and immersion (3-dimensional).

    WW1 (Also known as the Great War) started and lead to having the able bodied men sent to the Western Front and Eastern Front.

  • Fictional Model for VR created

    American science fiction writer and WW1 Veteran Stanley Weinbaum presented a fictional model for VR in his short story Pygmalion's Spectacles.

    On the 1st September, 1939 Hitler ordered the German army to start the invasion of Poland with Russia attacking from the other side. This was seen as an act of war and a ruthless and bloody action.
