    Only white male property owners had the right to vote

  • The 15th Amendment

    Women have the right to vote

  • Indian Citizen act

    Native Americans had the right to vote

  • Civil Rights Act

    Gave power to the attorney general to seek federal court orders to prevent any person rights to vote in a federal election.

  • The Civil Rights act of 1960

    Officers were to serve anywhere a federal court found voter discrimination.

  • Civil Rights act of 1964

    Forbids vote registration or literacy requirement in an unfair or discriminatory manner

  • 24th Amendment

    Outlawed ALL poll taxes

  • Voting Rights of 1965

    suspended literacy test or similar device in any state or country. Also, created Voting examiners to serve in any state or country.

  • 26th Amendment

    Lower voting age from 21 to 18
