    only white male prorperty owners can vote

  • Religious Qualifications Dropped

    the last religious perequisite is dropped

    Porperty ownership and taxes eliminated. Almost all adult white males could vote

    The 15th amendment is passed and all former slaves have the right to vote

  • 19th Amendment

    this amendment gives women suffrage

  • 23rd Amendment

    allows voers of the District of Colombia to participate in presidential elections

  • 24th Amendment

    bans the poll tax as a requirement for voting in federal elections

  • Voting Rights Act of 1965

    this act protects the rights of minority voters and bans the literacy test

  • 26th Amendment

    sets minimum voting age to 18
