End of the Civil War and 13th Amendment abolishes slavery
This event leads to minority me being able to vote. This increases voting rights because it is one step closer to getting black men to be able to vote. This is important because now that black men are free they can now be almost as equal to white men. -
15th Amendment gives minority males the right to vote
The event that after giving minority males the right to vote is taking away that right. This increases voting rights because now black men can vote for who they want as president and are now a little bit closer to become equal citizens. This is important because giving all men voting rights will give the world a better view and make minorities feel better about themselves and about the world. -
Many southern state pass laws to take voting rights from African-Americans
The event that happens after this one is literay tests. Taking voting rights fro African-Americans will increase voting rights because when this law is over the rights will bump back up. This is important because taking away voting rights will give them more rights in the future. -
Supreme Court rules that literacy tests are constitutional
The next event is the Grandfather Clause. The literacy test increases voting rights because if you passed the test you were aloud to vote. This is important because when you get to vote you have accomplished something. -
Supreme Court declares "Grandfather Clause" unconstitutional
The next event is women's voting rights. This increases voting rights because the grandfather Clause will let you vote if your grandfather is not a slave t the time. This is important because it is one step closer to getting all blacks to vote. -
19th Amendment grants that women have a right to vote
The next event is poll taxes. Women's voting rights increases voting rights because now that women can vote more than double the amount of people can vote now. This is important because now women are equal to men. -
Supreme Court rules that poll taxes are constitutional
The next event would be outlawing poll taxes. Poll taxes increases voting rights because if you were a poor white or a black person you got vote at a lower price. This is important because it is making it easier for poor people to vote and get poll taxes.
