Period: May 19, 1850 to May 19, 2000

13th Amendment

May 19, 1865

This event is important because it made all men and women a little bit more equal and no one was treated differently. We were all one and not just whites.

15th Amendment

May 19, 1869

This event lead to increased voting rights by letting more men to vote and soon then became more than just white men voting.

Grandfather Clause Unconstitutional

May 21, 1915

This event lead to more voting rights by letting more poeple vote but only if they could prove their grandfather could vote but since it's unconstitutional it gave more people the right to vote.

19th Amendment

May 19, 1920

This event is important because it made women feel equal with men and it also included more of the countries citizens to vote over something.

24th Amendment

Feb 21, 1964

This event is important because since people didn't have to pay to vote more people would vote and made it more of an equal citizen type of thing,

Freedom Summer

Jun 21, 1964

This event is important becasue it let african americans vote so it made men more equal with each other and more poeple are able to vote.

Voting Rights Act

May 21, 1965

This event lead to increased voting rights by letting everyone vote no matter what race, color, or ethnicity they were.
