This event increased voting rights because it caused African American men and women to be free and part of United States citizenship, so they eventually wanted and were granted access to vote.

15th Amendment

Nov 29, 1869

This event increased voting rights because it opened up another group of people who can obtain access to vote, causing an increased number of votes.

This event is important because it is an act to try to take away rights to vote from people, which causes less overall votes.

Supreme Court Rules that Literacy Tests are Unconstitutional

This event lead to an increase in voting rights because African-Americans who took literacy tests don't have to take them anymore and can just vote without a restriction.

"Grandfather Clause" Unconstitutional

This will lead to increased voting rights because it also gets rid of another road block that discriminated most African Americans from voting

This is a very huge increase to voting rights because now woman can vote as well which is a huge population of people to open up for voting
