This event is important because it lead to abolition of Slavery. As slavery ended the African Americans were free from their owners. -
15th Amendment
- Gives minority males the right to vote- This event lead to influence the southern states to pass laws to take voting rights from African-Americans.

Supreme Court rules that literacy tests are constitutional
Before voting we have to give this written test.If the judges feel like test don't have enough interpretation, then we wouldn't pass. -
Supreme Court declares "Grandfather Clause" unconstitutional
This event is important because these laws required voters to prove their grandfather oculd vote but what about African Americans who were slaves first that menas they didn't even had right to vote. -
19th Amendment
Grants the right to vote to women
This is important because it gave equal opportunity to women as like men. -
Supreme Court rules that poll taxes are constitutional
The supreme court declares that poll taxes is not illegal. This event is important because inorder to vote peopel had to poll taxes first. -
24th Amendment
This amendment outlaws poll taxes.
This is important because paying taxes befroe voting was nomore. Everyone had the chance to vote without having to pay for it. -
Freedom Summer
This event is importnat because it was a voter registration drive sponsored by civil rights organization that increases African-Americans voters. -
Voting Rights Act
It banned racial and ethnic discrimination in elections allowing every US citizens no more their religion ,skin color, or their origin to vote.
