Voting Rights

  • Land-owning Males

    During this time only males that owned land had the right to vote.
  • All White Men

    All white men were granted the right to vote.
  • 15th Amendment

    The 15th amendment makes it so you can not be denied the right to vote based on race.
  • Wyoming

    Wyoming was the first state to grant women the right to vote.
  • Women Vote

    The 19th amendment granted women the right to vote, unfortunately not all Native Americans and Asian women were citizens.
  • Voting Rights Act

    In 1965 the Voting Rights Act was passed by congress, now all barriers for some were gone and they can not vote.
  • Voting Age Lowered

    The voting age was lowered to 18 from 21.
