The raid on Lindisfarne
The first time Viking came to England. They sailed from Scandinavia all the way to England. They landed in the island of Lindisfarne, and went to the monastery and attacked. They slaughtered most of the monks and took the rest as slaves, and looted it and burned it to the ground. -

The Battle of Stamford bridge.
In January of 1066 Harald II became king of England, his brother Tostig Godwinson wanted the crown and joined forces with Harald Hardrada and leaded a invading army of Vikings. The battle was long and bloody in which point Harald Hardrada was killed, Harald II asked for peace but Tostig fought on and died, A small part of the force survived and retreated.
