    The south were trained by the US Military Assistance Advisor Group (MAAG).

  • Terrorist Bombing in Saigon

    During a terrorist bombing, thirteen Americans working for the MAAG and US information service were wounded.

  • Australia Joins

    Australia joined the South and helped fight against the North. Almost 60,000 troops from Australia came to Vietnam. Over 3,000 were wounded and 521 died as a result of the war.

  • Battle of Ap Bac

    In the Battle of Ap Bac, the South Vietnamese Army were defeated by the Viet Cong units.
