    The Battle of Dien Bien Phu was the battle of Vietnams freedom. They fought against the French. They won and gained their freedom.
  • Creation of the 17th parallel between North and South Vietnam

    When Vietnam won and gained there freedom there were communist and non communist. The Geneva Accords established a way to make divide it. They used the 17th parallel.
  • Establishment of the National Liberation Front

    The Establishment of the National Liberation Front was a plan to overthrow south Vietnamese government. This was one of the main reasons that the war started. The US then started to help South Vietnamese more.
  • Gulf of Tonkin Incident and Resolution

    The Gulf of Tonkin Incident was 2 US destroyers that were stationed in the Golf of Tonkin. They believed that they were fired at by North Vietnamese. The resolution was saying that President Johnson can take any measure he believed were necessary to retaliate and promote the maintenance of international peace and security in southeast Asia.

    The Tet Offensive was multiple attacks on South Vietnamese city's planed out. They took over the city's and killed a lot of people. We then help the South Vietnamese to take back the city's that we had.

    The My Lai Massacre was a group of solider who went into a city to try and find Viet Cong soldiers. They did not find any and yet they still killed and the men women and children. Over 500 people were killed that day.

    There was a protest outside of Kent state. The Ohio national guard opened fire. They killed 4 and wounding 9 students. This event started nation wide student strikes.

    Happened when we were leaving south Vietnam. there was people every where and people tried to come home with us.

    this was a protest at Jackson State College. it turned violent and killed 2 people and injured 12.
