Tet Offensive
North vietnamese suprise attack on south Vietnam territory, they attacked everywhere. It was a buddhist holiday so nobody suspected an attacl so when they came out of countless tunnels throughout Southern Vietnam, the effect was devistating. -
Vietnamization
The US slowly withdrew troops from souther vietnam to shift independence back over to them. However, North Vietnam rapidly over took territory without the support of the American Military. -
Vietnam Ceasefire Signed
South Vietnam, North Vietnam, and United Stated all signed peace treaty and ended fighting. Vietnam agreed to hold fair elections that gave every citizen's opinions importance.
