During the Geneva Conference France signed a ceasefire and agreed to withdraw its troops from the region. The end result of this conference was French Indochina was split into three countries: Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. -

Operation Rolling Thunder was a campaign of bombing against North Vietnam. The main purpose of this was to destroy all of North Vietnam's infastructures such as bases and transportation systems. -

The Tet Offensive was a large amount of attacks on 100 or more cities in north Vietnam. People thought these attacks would lead to the ARVN callapsing. -
My Lai Massacre
The My Lai Massacre was a mass killing of a small village in south Vietnam. William Calley, the man who led this event, was sentenced to life imprisonment for cruelty. -

The Woodstock Festival was where 400,000 teens gathered for rock music. This festival helped spread youth/hippie culture and is now known as a landmark. -
The Invasion of Cambodia
The Invasion of Cambodia was many military operations that took place in eastern Cambodia. This was put into action to take out Viet Cong and this was led by President Nixon. -
Kent State Shooting
Many students were protesting against U.S. involvement in the Vietnam war. The National Gaurd fired at the students and sadly four students were killed and nine students were wounded.
