The selective service system of the US conducted two lotteries to determin the order of call to military service in the vietnam war. The lottery procedure was modified but the draft stayed. -
Kent-State shooting
The shooting of unarmed college students by the Ohio National Guard. The shooters fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds. 4 students were killed and 9 others wounded. -
Fall of Saigon
This was the capture of Saigon, the South Vietnam capital. This marked the end of the Vietnam War.
