  • First Video Game

    The first-ever video game was created by Physicist William Higinbotham. The game had a tennis-like resemblance and was quite simple. The game could be played by 2 players and the objective was to block the ball from going past you.
  • Magnavox Odyssey

    This was the first-ever home video game console. The console would set a standard in video games and would inspire other consoles to come. The console was not too portable could be played with more than 1 player.
  • Pong

    Pong was one of the most important video game created. The game was the first widespread video game and it started the videogame boom. It was very similar to the first game ever created.
  • Gameboy

    The gameboy was the 3rd best selling console of all time. The gameboy was revolutionary since it was super portable. This showed how it was possible to have a portable console and it would later make a market of portable consoles
  • Doom

    Doom was the first ever fps game ever made. It also introduced pvp and meant that you didn't have to be with your friend to play with him.Due to its violence in the game, a lot of people bought doom since it was appealing.
  • ESRB

    ESRB stands for Entertainment Software Ratings Board. The ESRB was made due to all the violence and now they can rate games for certain ages. It helps parents also see if their children should be allowed to play a certain game or not.
  • PS2

    The PS2 was the best selling console for a long time. When it came out it really changed the standards of other consoles. The also somewhat normalized digital games and made them boom.
  • Microsoft Consoles

    Microsoft had a huge impact when they arrived to the market.They were powerful for the time and looked sleek. This would be the start of a rivalry that still exists today.
  • Nintendo Wii

    The Wii showed the world other aspects of gaming. It showed how gaming isn't limited to sitting down or laying which were signs of laziness. The Wii introduced movement based gaming and had the capabilities to play with others as it was a family friendly game which meant a bigger audience.
  • 4k Resolution

    4k resolution was introduced in consoles first in August 2, 2016 when the xbox one s came out. The resolution made the edges of things crisper and cleaner. This soon after became a feature on most future gaming systems.
