    Since arcades were so expensive most people played arcade games at an arcade. This would be known as the golden age for arcades. Lots of people would go to arcades to play the arcade games.
  • Gory Games

    In the 1990s fighting games were made. Some would feature gore witch parents were not a fan of. They claimed it would make their kids violent in real life. It became a very bi deal and they ended up taking it to court were they offered the video game rating system.
  • 3D Games

    Sega had made the first 32-bit system. It was also a home console. This console would greatly improve graphic potential. Soon after the NES would be made along with Super Mario 64, the first 3D game with good controls.

    When the playstation 2 came out in 2000 it would also use discs for its games. The playstation 2 would also be known for it loud intro. The dvd system would prove better and worse than cartridges in ways. It was easy to carry and keep up with dads and they didn't constantly have dust getting in the cartridge and messing up the game. But they were easy to scratch and mess up.

    In 2001 the first Xbox was released. The Xbox was the first hoe console that could play movie dvd along with the game dvds. The first xbox was a lot like the playstation but with more features.

    The playstation 3 took advice from the xbox when it had the dvd reader for movies. It had a Blu-ray player. It was the first console with a Blu-ray player.

    In 2006 Microsoft launched the Xbox 360. It was a very popular console with similar graphic capability's as the Playstation 3. But the 360 had more things going for it than the Playstation 3, like its online gaming ecosystem. It also had the very popular kinect. It featured modern motion capture technology for motion track games.

    The popular game Skylanders was a game that required you to have real life plastic toy characters to use them in game. It was the first of its kind. The game had a scanner witch you would set the toy characters on to then play as that character in game.

    The Nintendo Switch was the first console to have both hand held and television gameplay. You could hold the devise in your hand and play it on the go, or put it in the charger holder, and play it on television with the remotes. It also had side remotes that could detach from the console and be used as individual controllers.
