The rise of 3D gaming
With computer tech evolving, the fifth generation of gaming rushed to 3 dimensional gaming. Sega released the Saturn in north America. This was the first 3D, 32-bit console that played cd's instead of cartridges. -
The playstation
The playstation was a little bit late to the 3D video games. But the playstation was top of the market. it was sold at at a more affordable price than most of the others and used cd's instead of cartridges. -
The Nintendo 64
After the playstation Nintendo released its cartridge based 64-bit system. Through Sega Nintendo released their fare share of high quality 3D games. Such as Virtua Fighter and Super Mario 64. -
play station 2
When the ps2 was released it was and still is the best selling game console to date. it not only was able to play cds but you could play original playstation games on the ps2. This put Sony dominating the gaming console industry. -
Nintendo GameCube
When this released it was Sony's biggest competitor. The GameCube competed with the ps2 released in 2000. This is because this was the first console to use optical disks/ small cds. -
The original Xbox
The xbox was released late november of 2001.What mad this console interesting was that microsoft was the manufacturer. Although this gaming console was late to the market it was and still is one of the biggest console brands. -
The Xbox 360
This console was extra special to most people. Not only because most of us grew up with this but because this was one of the first consoles that you could go online with other friends. This console will always be my favorite game console.
