    The Super NES (Super Famicom in Japan) was released in 1990. The Super NES plays 16 bit games and was one of the best selling console. The controller has the ABXY button layout that are seen in today's game controllers. This was also the first Nintendo console to have the L and R shoulder buttons.

    The Virtual Boy was the first console to play games in 3D. Although, it ended up being a failure because it cause headaches and other health concerns. The Virtual Boy was one of the worst Nintendo systems.

    The Nintendo 64 (iQue in China) was the console that started the open world 3D games. Super Mario 64 showed people a new experience with the new analog stick and a trigger button. The N64 Controller has an analog stick that made 3D games more accurate to play instead of a D-Pad. Also, this console introduced a rumble feature. An add on called the Nintendo 64 DD was created later in 1997 although, it ended up being a failure that it never released outside of Japan and only had a few games for it.

    The GameCube was created in 2001, unlike the N64 however, there are two analog sticks on the controller and analog triggers. It also has two handles instead of three handles. The ABXY buttons are different too, the A button was a big green button showing that would be the button the player will likely press and the B button was a small red button being the least likely button to press.

    The Nintendo DS was the first handheld to have two screens, one on the top and the bottom. The bottom is a touch screen and can interact with many games. The DS was able to play Game Boy Advance games

    The Wii was made in 2006 and was the first console to have motion controls for certain games like Wii Sports. This console also came with a nunchuck for games that require you to use it. This console also has backwards compatibility and allows you to play GameCube games. Also, there's Virtual Console games that allow you to play older games too but most require a classic controller or a pro controller to play. These Virtual Console games have NES games, Super NES games, and N64 games.

This was also the first console to have a gamepad with a screen some games require you to use it along with the TV screen. in late 2016, the console started becoming a failure so much that many of the games on the console were remade for the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Switch. It was also one of the worst consoles since the Virtual Boy.

    Unlike the other DS and the 3DS the 2DS can't close and the 3D feature was removed. but is able to play DS and 3DS games.

    The New 3DS has better 3D and has a built in Amiibo scanner and a small circle pad. The New 2DS unlike the normal one is able to close and also has a built in Amiibo scanner.

    Unlike the Wii U, TV can't be used at the same time because the game pad goes in the Switch dock which makes it show on the TV screen. The controller can come off the sides of the gamepad they are called Joy cons, unlike other controllers, the joy con's D-Pads are now buttons. one Joy con has a capture button which allows you to take pictures or make videos. the other has a sensor for some games and an Amiibo scanner on the analog stick. It also has an HD rumble feature.
