This was a system that started out in east, and because of its success was moved over to the west. This device is well known by many, and is considered one of the peak systems for video game consoles, it didn't have the best hardware, was not the fastest, but it had the games, the feel, and was a solid system for its time. This system shot Nintendo into the races of the video game console wars against Sega, which began in the late 80's. -
Sega Master System
during this time arcades were the biggest fun on the block, and Sega was trying to come up with ways of transferring the fun from the arcade into the living room. This was one of the most successful experiences that came close to arcades. -
Sega Genesis
This was one of the big contenders in the late 80's. The Genesis was a first look at an appealing looking console, it was something that spoke to the video game audience as cool. This was Sega's third major console -
Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)
Nintendo's successor to its NES. This system added more power and more games. This system was new and improved, with better graphics. This was Nintendo's answer to the Sega's genesis. -
PlayStation 1
A system everyone can remember, its memorable sound of starting up with the PlayStation logo. This was a beginning for PlayStation, with there newest console, supporting 32 bit graphics. -
Nintendo 64
Anyone who grew up in the 90's remembers this console. It was one of the golden generations of gaming, it had a huge line up of fantastic games. A game system with 3D movement, and 64 bit rendering. Who could forget one of Nintendo's weirdest looking controls, but somehow still made it as one of the best consoles of all time. -
PlayStation 2
This was not just a successor to the original PlayStation, but became the best selling console of all time. It dominated the gaming industry, it has superb graphics, and great design, you could even watch dvd on the system. A huge milestone for video games, it had it all. Everyone respects the system for the games and entertainment it has to offer. This system has so far made a big difference on how video game consoles are designed. -
Nintendo GameCube
The cube no one can forget. This continued Nintendo's enthusiasm for making fun consoles, not being the most powerful of the system's of the early 2000's, but focusing on the titles released for the system. And with much success still was a great system to own back in the day. -
Xbox
After Microsoft saw how successful many companies like Nintendo, and up and coming PlayStation were in the video game industry, Microsoft threw its hat in the ring upon releasing the first Xbox video game system. This system had to compete with the PlayStation 2, and the GameCube. -
Xbox 360
The successor to the Xbox. This was the next generation of Xbox, as PlayStation were competing for your choice in console. Xbox 360 was known for its online, during the rise of internet reaching homes, this system began its focus with online multiplayer and has become something big ever since. PlayStation offered a similar platform but Xbox 360 executed this very well. -
PlayStation 3
The successor to the PlayStation 2. When graphics made huge leaps forward, and games started to be made with more precision the PlayStation 3 was the right start. -
PlayStation 4
The PlayStation 4 is the current console of this generation, the successor to the PlayStation 3. With improved graphics and gameplay this system so far has made big strides for PlayStation. -
Xbox One
The successor of the Xbox 360, this system was improved similarly to the PlayStation 4. This system offered entertainment along side its gaming option. Taking a leap to be the center of your entertainment center in your household. -
Nintendo Switch
The first Console hybrid to be a console, and a portable. This system so far has been a huge success for Nintendo. offering many different games that utilize all the features. Nintendo still pushing not the best hardware, but focusing on fun family friendly games. This has been a huge leap for video games because of the adaptability it offers to its users. -
