    Great Britain had swore to defend Belgium's sovereignty they issued a deal to Germany on August 4, 1914 ordering Germany to give them German troops by a certain time when this deal expired Great Britain and Germany went to war. When Great Britain went to war, so did all of the British empire including Canada and an independent colony of Newfoundland. Canada had to take part in the war but Canada was the ones to decide how much effort they put in the war. +1 in progress

    The battle of Kapyong is one of Canada's best but less known military achievement. 2 days in april 1950 a battalion of roughly 700 Canadian soldiers were sent out to help defend the crucial hill in the front lines in the war. they had to fight 5000 chinese soldiers.
