In October, 1922 about 30,000 fascists marched to the capital, in Rome. They demanded that Mussolini be put into power. The king acquesced to the people's demands and gave Mussolini control. -

Mussolini was now IL Duce or leader of. He became the totalitarism leader of all Italy. He abolished democracyand outlawed all other politcal parties except the news and media was censored. So only positive information about the fascists could be published. -

Mussolini Attacks Ethiopia
Mussolini bitterly complained that Britain and France had taken all of the good land. Ethiopia was one of Africa's four remaining independent nations. The ethiopians resisted the Italians first strike but Mussolini ordered a massive invasion of Ethiopia and they were not able to defend themselves against the Italians the second time.
