    The French and Indian War was a long and expensive war between France and Britain and their native american allies for control over North America. after Britain won, the king began taxing the colonists to pay for the war. The colonists were angry because they were being taxed.
  • The Proclamation Of 1763

    The Proclamation Of 1763
    The Proclamation Of 1763 was an issued proclamation that forbade colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains.The King hoped to placate Native Americans who had sided against him during the recently concluded Seven Years' War. The Colonists disregarded the proclamation without fear of punishment. Some wanted only enough land for themselves and their families.

    The Sugar Act was a revenue-raising act passed by the British Parliament of Great Britain that set a tax on sugar and molasses imported into the colonies which impacted the manufacture of rum in New England.The Colonists were angry because they were going through a period of financial difficulties.

    After months of protest, and an appeal by Benjamin Franklin before the British House of Commons, Parliament voted to repeal the Stamp Act in March 1766. The Colonists were probably happy because they don't have to pay taxes on paper items.

    The Declaratory Act was passed right after The Repeal Of Stamp Act, It stated that Parliament's authority was the same in America as in Britain and asserted Parliament's authority to pass laws that were binding on the American colonies. The Colonists were probably really angry because after getting rid of one act they placed another on them.

    The Battles of Lexington and Concord, kicked off the American Revolutionary War. Hundreds of British troops marched from Boston to nearby Concord in order to seize an arms cache. The Colonists didn't approve of this battle because of all the inexperienced soldiers.

The second Congress managed the colonial war effort, and moved incrementally towards independence, adopting the United States Declaration of Independence. I feel like the colonies actually liked the Second Continental Congress.
