    Charles Lindbergh made the first transatlantic flight from New York to Paris in 34 hours. His Airplane's nickname was the "spirit of St. Louise." This flight helped change public opinion on air travel and was one stepping stone for laying the foundation of the aviation industry.

    Stock Market Crash
    The stock market began dropping in September and finally crashed on October 24, 1929. It was cause by a stock market boom in which people were buying up stocks and inflating the market. Many stocks were bought on credit, once the value decrease, shareholder lost their money. This event led to the great Depression.

    President Herbert Hoover signed the document which granted the Star-Spangled Banner as the National Anthem. The anthem was written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key after the War of 1812.

    This amendment set dates of when federal offices ended and clarified that the vice president would become president if the president passed away.

    President Franklin D Roosevelt served as the 32nd US President. He promised a "New Deal' which he created government jobs for jobless workers affected by the great depression. He Help lead the country out of the great depression. FDR use technology to reach the people of the US via radio called "Fireside chatts" to announce his actions and keep the citizens in touch with his involvement.

    After a nearly week long bank holiday, President Roosevelt signed the Emergency Bank Relief Act which ensured that banks were financially sound before they could reopen. This helped in resecuring trust in banks after the prior bank failures across the country.

    The Japanese delivered a surprise attack on the naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The Japanese hoped to put a hurt on the US Navy and thought the US would end up in the war anyways. The US help an Isolationism belief at the time and this event cause a shift from this view. Later the US would Enter the war on the Allied side.
