There are four costume changes within this music video. The costumes consist of casual attire as the setting is in a mansion which is supposedly Usher's house. Therefore, he is dressed in clothes that would conventionally be worn around the house by R'n'B stars. However, the clothes are clearly branded and he still wears jewellery as a symbol of his wealth. -
Costume - How does it link to lyrics?
Usher reminisces about an ex-partner who once lived with him.This is portrayed through the lyrics, as well as the setting as he is located in the mansion they once shared together. Therefore, his casual clothing refers to the home setting which links to the lyrics because he is in the home that his partner used to live in. -
Setting and Location
There are five different locations within this music video: the bedroom, the glass window, the pool, the car and beverly hills. All locations within the home setting are all clearly portrayed to be within a mansion. This is conventional of the R'n'B genre as the focus is mainly on the man and his masculinity is merely measured upon his finances. A golden filter is also used which emphasises the sense of money and 'bling' within the video. -

The location of Beverly Hills is also used which is famously known for the beautiful mansions which surround it. This connotes further that the artist lives in a mansion in Beverly Hills. The setting and location within this video conforms to the genre conventions as the focus is central to the artist's wealth and manhood.
