United States won although there was a few issues along this proccess.The Philippines had over 7.5 million people and over 7,000 islands. -

The Fight for Independence was in 1896-97. This was before the United States had arrived. This war was led by a Filiphino Aguinaldo and followed by other Fhilipinoes. While The Philippines were in war with Spain, the United States had arrived, helping out the Philippines. -

The Philippine American War took place in 1899-1902. This war sparked when The Philippines wanted to gain independence. This war took place in the Philippines. -
Effects and Daily Work
Spain went into the Philippines looking for spices. unfortunately that part did not work out but they did spread Christianity. During this time period, everyone lived in hutts and ate fish and rice. Wokring on the farms for as little as 30-40 cents a day! -

The Treat of Manila was the treaty signed to give the Philippines independence. It was signed in 1946. This treaty is still in effect today.
