    Is the boundry that separated the Warsaw Pact countries from the NATO countries from about 1945 until the end of the Cold War in 1991.
    East= countries that were connected to or influenced by the former Soviet Union (East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, and Albania).
    West= democratic governments.

    Twas a program to aid Europe.
    US supported Europe to help rebuikd their economy after WWII in order to prevent Soviet communism.

    The Berlin Blockade blocked western allies railways, roads and canal access to sectors of Berlin under allied control.
    Western powers were permitted in Soviet zones to supply Berlin with food and fuel.

    The Forming of Nato
    The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is an intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty. The organization constitutes a system of collective defence whereby its member states agree to mutual defense in response to an attack by any external party. Countries involved in this in 1949 were Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the United Kingdom and the United States.

    Berlin Airlift
    Berlin airlift was created and used to carry supplies to the people in West Berlin. Aircrews from the United States Air Force, the British Royal Air Force, the Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal New Zealand Air Force, and South African Air Force flew over 200,000 flights in one year, providing up to 4700 tons of daily necessities such as fuel and food to the Berliners.
