Sand creek massacre
Sand Creek was a village of 800 CHEYENNE Indians in south-east Colorado. The local leader, Black kettle, went to ask the army for protection of his lands. On November 28, 1864, he was assured that his people would not be disturbed at Sand Creek, however, the next day he would wake up to see that this was a lie. A group called the Colorado volunteers would surround the village and they would fight along with other Indians. A peace treaty was later called. S -

The decade of innovations and economic growth was cut abruptly with a great depression. Many people lost their homes and jobs. Though it is not the main reason, one of the notable reasons for the great depression was the stock market crash of 1929 with a loss of 14 billion dollars on the first day.

Rosa Parks and the Montgomery bus boycott
