Christopher columbus
Columbus set sail through the Atlantic Ocean.The trip was financed by Spain. -
Education
Massachusetts law requires every state to have a school in every town. The frist school was built in 1636. Only whites were allowed in the school. -
Bacon rebelion
The Bacon Rebellion was lead by Nathan Bacon who did not agreed on trades with William Berkley. This conflict was over Indian Far Trade. -
Enlightment
The Enlightment period was a period in time where new invention and inavation were discovered. -
Discovery of medicen
During this time period inavation and invention was a key part of life. The cure to small poxs was discovered. The Puritans belive that if anyone was given a small dose of small poxs, they will grow immune to the diesease. -
Cotton gin
The cotton gin was invented. This impacted the southern economy. They were able to hire more slaves to work in the fields for more profit. -
Revolutionary war
The Britsh and the patriots fought at Bunker Hill. This battle costed many casualties. In the end the patriots lost the war. -

The grand committee met on this date. They created with compromise from a two house legislature. They agreed that slaves would only be represented by 3/5's of aperson. -

Jefferson vs Adams
In 1800 there was an election between Jefferson and John Adams. Jefferson won the Republican party over Aaron Burr on the 36th ballot. -
Louisiana purchase
The United States agreed to pay $15 million for the land. -

American forces seized Lake Erie. In the summer American invade Canada through Detriot. -
The Monroe Doctrine
This policy would be known as the Monroe Doctrine. This established the idea of the United States as the dominent power in the western hemisphere. -

After the Americans won Mexico, Mexico agreed to surrender California and New Mexico. They also gave acknowledgement that the Rio Grande is the boundry line of Texas. -

Fredrick Douglass was born on 1838. Fredrick escaped from slavery. He was a social reforment and a orator. Fredrick became a leader of a abolitionist movement.
