Signing of The Declaration of Indepedence
The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776 at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fifty-six congressional delegates in total signed the document, including some who were not present at the vote approving the declaration. On July 19, Congress decided to produce a handwritten copy to bear all the delegates’ signatures. -
First US President
George Washington was born February 22, 1732 and died December 14, 1799.George Washington served in Office for 2 terms. He oversaw the Government and everything that happened. He was elected President April 30, 1789 to March 4, 1797. His Vice President was John Adams and John became the 2nd US President. -

Louisiana Purchase
Thomas Jefferson purchased the Louisiana Territory from Napoleon in France for $15 million in 1803. He doubled almost half the size of the United States with the Louisiana Purchase. The Louisiana Territory stretched from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains. -
Missouri Compromise
This agreement was designed to maintain equal power between the slave states and free states. Because Congress compromised, several things were set into motion that eventually led to the US Civil War. 1) Slavery was not made illegal in the South. 2) The South wanted to become its own independent nation. 3) The country became split on the issues of federalism and slavery. -

Harriet Tubman
Harriet Tubman was an African-American Abolitionist which meant she was in the movement to end slavery. She was born into slavery, escaped and made more than 13 missions to rescue more than 70 slaves. In 1849 Tubman escapes to Philadelphia then immediatly returned back to Maryland to rescue her family. One group at a time, she brought relatives out of the state and eventually giuded dozens of other slaves to freedom. She died March 10, 1913 at the age of 93. She had died of pneumonia. -
Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
The assassination of Abraham Lincoln took place April 14, 1865 in Washington DC at the Ford's Theatre. Lincoln was the firt presidnet ever to be assassintated. The assassination was thought of and planned out by well know actor John Wilkes Booth. John Wilkes Booth was the person that shot Lincoln that night while watching a play with his wife Mary Todd Lincoln. Lincol later died early the next morning. -
Assassination of John F. Kennedy
John F. Kennedy was assassinated at 12:30 p.m November 22, 1963 in Dallas Texas. Kennedy was fatally shot while traveling with his wife Jacqueline, Texas Governor John Connally, and the latter's wife Nellie, in a Presidential motorcade. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. Kennedy's assassination is still the subject of widespread debate. -
Apollo 11
Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first humans on the moon. The Launch date was July 16, 1969 and they landed on the moon July 20, 1969. The Americans that landed on the moon were Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Armstrong became the first to step onto the Lunar Surface 6 hours later on July 21. All astronauts returned to Earth safely after traveling in Space for 8 days. -
9-11 attacks
9-11 was a series of 4 coordinated suicide attacks. They were in the US in Washington DC and New York City. On that morning 19 terrorists hijacked 4 planes. 2 of the planes they hijacked, they intentinally flew 2 of the planes into the 2 twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. Within 2 hours they crashed both the Twin Towers and they collapsed. Altogether 3,000 people were killed! Osama bin Laden was the leader of this group with the terrorists and was later killed in May 2011. -

Osama bin Laden was the former leader of the Islamist group. He was killed in Pakistan on May 2, 2011. Osama bin Laden ws the leader and planner of the attack on 9/11. People found him hiding in Pakistan and killed him later on.
