    The Hollywood Ten event took place in Oct 1947. What occurred was that 10 ppl in the Hollywood film industry outed the tactics that the HUAC were using. These 10 ppl received 10 jail sentences and were banned from working for the major Hollywood studios

    The Marshall Plan was signed on April 3, 1948. The Marshall Plan was created to send American goods and support democratic governments in Western Europe. And it was also created to help support Europe in the rebuild after WW2.

    On Aug 1961, the Berlin Wall was built. The eastern part was given to the Soviets and the Western part was given to the US, France, and Great Britain. On the western side, the economy grew due to the support from the three allied countries whereas the Eastern side weakened because all the resources were given to the Soviets. This led to many people in Eastern Germany fleeing to the west which caused the Berlin Wall to be raised.

    On April 17, 1961, 1,400 Cuban exiles launched what became a botched invasion at the Bay of Pigs on the south coast of Cuba. They launched the exile invasion because they wanted to overthrow Castro and establish a non-communist government that would be an ally to the US
