Berlin Wall goes Up
On Aug 1961, the Berlin Wall was built. The eastern part was given to the Soviets and the Western part was given to the US, France, and Great Britain. On the western side, the economy grew due to the support from the three allied countries whereas the Eastern side weakened because all the resources were given to the Soviets. This led to many people in Eastern Germany fleeing to the west which caused the Berlin Wall to be raised. -
