The Holocaust happened because Adolf Hitler became a powerful leader who ruled the Nazis. He murdered approximately 6 million Jewish people. He did this because he felt like he was far superior compared to the Jewish culture.

Segregation
Segregation was the seperation of different races. In America, in the early 1900's, segregation mainly happened to African Americans. They couldn't sit in the front of the bus, they couldn't drink from the same water fountaions as whites, and their schools were seperated. Marrtin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks were two of the many African Americans who tried to stand up for what was right.

Cold War
The Cold War was basically a conflict about how the US thinks there should be any communists. The Soviet Union represented the side for the communists. The US also wanted to have free trade with the rest of the world but The Soviet Union and Russia were against this totally. This is one of the many things that led to the Cold War.

The Baby Boom was the years from 1946-1964 when over 76 million babies were born. They grw up with Woodstock, The Vietnam War, and John F. Kennedy.

Rock n' Roll is a genre of music that came about in the late 1940's. Elvis presely was said to be the king of rock n' roll. Rock n' Roll started to decrease in the late 1950's. But today people still enjoy those old tunes,

This was an ethic that American wanted to live by. America wanted freedom. Ever sicne this Declaration of Independance was signed, America has had freedom. Martin Luther King Jr. was a person who wanted freedom and wanted to rid of segregation.

The White Flight was a term that meant white people left places because of the minorities that were there. They moved to the subarbs.

Space Race
The Space Race was a "Race" to get the first space shuttle into space. The Soviet Union were the first to accomplish this. People were scared but filled with surprised looks the whole time. The US were afraid that this could be a setupf or an attack. But on July 20, 1969, the US launched a rocket with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to the moon. They were the first humans to walk on the moon.

John F. Kennedy presented this idea that would end racism, give women more rights, help the economy, and many more ideas.
