To keep provisions from reaching Washington, Garibaldi's campaign broke down the Potomac river dam causeing water levels to drop in the Ohio and Chesapeake canal. -

Clothing and Money

After leaving Camp Stevenson he and his campaign run in to a force of yankees even though the yankees retreat 20 southerners are wounded or killed in a small battle. -
Finding Supplies
John's campaign come across yankees but the yankees retreat leaving behind five hundred barrels of crackers, along with flour, clothing, amunition, and other supplies. -
Becoming a Sergeant
Circa February 9, 1862 John's campaign reached Winchester, John was promoted to sergeant and his pay raised to 17 dollars a month. He must have been good at what he did. -
Battle of Sharpsburg
Twelve people from Garibaldi's company fought in the Battle of Sharpsburg, but not Garibaldi. -
Running Low On Supplies
Circa February 18 supplies such as thread, soap, and socks were running low, the men must've been dirty and rough looking. -
Pay Raise
While at Camp Windor John's pay raise gets raised 4 dollars to 21$, He must have been a pretty good sergeant. -

Garibaldi's general General T. J. Jackson died of pneumonia on this date, nuemonia was a serious problem because there was little medicine to help heal it. -

Thomas W. Rose, a friend, became sick and went to the hospital. -

Goerge Poor ,a family member, was wounded in the shoulder. However the wound was not deadly. -
Wages Decrease
Circa January 9, 1864 John's monthly payment went down to 17 dollars. -

Multiple regiments includeing John's regiment had a snowball fight lifting the spirts of many. -
