lewis and clark expedition
Merriweather Lewis and William Clark were two men hired by President Jefferson to explore the Louisiana territory. Clark was an expert map maker and responsible for making the maps that would later guide more Americans west.On the other hand, Lewis led the journey and recorded the new plant and animal species found along the journey. These two very important men lead Americans west and pathed the way for our nation’s success, without them America would not be the land it is today. -
Louisiana Purchase
On this day president Thomas Jefferson purchased a plot of land that nearly doubled the size of the United States. This land, known as the Louisiana Purchase, was purchased for $15million. When America gained this land they also gained complete control over the Mississippi River, which at the time was the largest source of trade in America. This land gave Americans room to farm and trade, making America prosper. America would not be the same today if we had not made the Louisiana Purchase. -

In this time period people from all around the world hurried to western America to mine for large amounts of gold. The finding of gold in California quickly got attention and California was immediately flooded with people looking for gold. However, these miners didn’t make the majority of the profit. It was the merchants who made money. The merchants would charge large amounts of money for items such as food. This event helped create the American image and aided in western expansion. -

the first world cup didnt go as well as planned it eventually became popular and made it to the olympics. -
9/11
on this awful day, four planes were hijacked and two crashed into the world traed center. the others hit the pentegon and the fourth ended up crashing into a field in pensylvania after the passengers took it over and tried to land. unfortunatly everybody on all four planes died along with thousands mor who were in the attacked buildings. -
