United States History Class Timeline 2015-16

  • The Declaration of Indepence

    "The 4th of July" Was written by Thomas Jefferson. The declariation was made for seperation of Britain and providing the principles of government which the US wouljd be built.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    The Louisiana Purchase was made in 1803 by President Thomas Jefferson. The Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the United States, and gives the nation complete control of the Mississippi river. The land was purchased from France, and the cost was 15,000,000 for entire territory and 3 cents per acre. The Lewis and Clark journey also had a gigantic impact on the United States Western Expansion. (Orange book page. 344).
  • The Lewis and Clark Journey West

    The Lewis and Clark Journey West
    Thomas Jefferson hired Lewis and Clark to explore the Louisiana Purchase and it had a huge impact on the Unites States. Lewis and Clark were hired to document any new animals, plants, and maps on their journey. The Native Americans including Sacagawea helped Lewis and Clark. Sacagawea gave Lewis and Clark food, shelter, horses, translated language, knowledge of terrain and climate. (Orange book page.344).
  • The Alamo

    The Alamo
    Juan Seguin and his troupes surrounded San Antionio and then the Mexicans started to go to war with him and they then started the Alamo. 1,000 of Mexicans died that day and 183 alamo defenders died also. (Orange book page. 427).

    Andrew Jackson made the Native Americans get up and move off their land in 1838 and he made them move to the east from the west. (Orange book page 403).
  • The Donner Party

    The Donner Party was a group of Pioneers who were trying to make it to california but had to go through hard situations such as cannibllism (History.com).
  • The California Gold Rush

    The California Gold Rush
    While James Marshall was building a sawmill he found a shiny stone in the nearby river. Than Luzena Wilson and her Husband went to California to become a (forty niner) which means to dig for gold. She then builded a hotel to take care of the others (forty niners) (Orange book page. 439).
  • Bleeding Kansas

    The bleeding of Kansas happened during the election of 1855 when there were more proselavery than antislavery settlers in the Kansas territory. This was important because a proslavery mod looted the town of Lawerence Kansas. Also John Brown an abolitionist led seven men to a massacre of the proslavery members. Then a cilvil war broke out in Kansas and the territory was called the Bleeding of Kansas.
  • The attack on Fort Sumter

    On this date there was an attack on Fort Sumter with an important person there named Abraham Lincoln.
  • The RMS Titanic

    The Titanic Sank in the North Atlanic Ocean on May 31 1909 after it hit an iceburg. And lots of people died on this tragic night.
  • The supreme case: Brown vs the board of education.

    Black People couldn't attend to the same schools as white people. Black people couldn't drink at the same water fountain as white people. Rosa Parks went to jail because she wouldn't give up her seat to 3 white guys. Martin Luther king Jr. led the freedom of speech. Everyone should be treated the same.
  • The death of Elvis.

    The death of Elvis.
    Elvis Presely 'The King of Rock n Roll" died of a heart attack on August 16th 1977. The singer and aactor was born on Janurary 8th in Tupelo MS. "The King of Rock n Roll" had tons of songs and movies.
  • The Chicago Bulls

    The Chicago Bulls
    The Chicago Bulls won 6 championship rings. And all of them were won from Michael Jordan and his teamates. My 2nd cousin was on the bulls in 2011 and his name is Rip Hamiltion.
  • Semptember 11, 2001 (aka) 9/11

    On 9/11 , 2001 terrorists from the group Al, Queda crashed into the Twin Towers which is in New york, the Pentagon which is in DC, and one of them crashed to a field in PA. The terrorists were from afganistan and they were led b y Osam Bin Laden. Over 2,500 people died that day. 9/11 was a tragic day to americans.
  • My birthday

    This is the day I was born.
  • Hurricane Katrina

    On August 23, 2005 3 different places in New Orleans got hit by Hurricane Katrina. 1,833 people died that day.
  • Lesean Mccoy

    Lesean Mccoy is a really good football player. He is a runnerback for the Buffalo Bills. Lesean Mccoy is from Harrisburg PA. He got drafted to the Eagles in 2009.
  • LeBron James

    LeBron James is on the Clevland Cavilers. LeBron has 2 championship rings and 4 MVP rings. LeBron is one of my favorite basketball players.
