  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    The Louisiana Purchase was made by president Thomas Jefferson who had bought the land from the French. The land gain doubled the size of our nation and gave us full control over the Mississippi River and through New Orleans. The land stretched from Wisconson to Mississippi and Oregon to Texas.
  • The Donner Party

    The Donner Party
    In April of 1846, a family crossing the Sierra Nevada Mountains got a broken axel on their wagon and were stuck. They were almost over the pass, but it snowed 7 feet overnight and trapped them in the mountains. They ran out of food after 3 weeks and had to eat their animals. Once the first person died, they had no choice but to eat them. This continued until the last person was alive and rescued.
  • California Gold Rush

    California Gold Rush
    The California Gold Rush started in 1849 when James Marshall found gold in Coloma California. When news of the gold being found got out, hundreds of thousands of people from around the world to try and find gold for themselves. The next year, California was an official U.S. state and had towns, roads, and later on, railways from the east came to the west for people to travel. Although soon after, most of the gold was mined out.

    Bleeding Kansas was a series of wars on the border of Kansas.
  • Attack on Fort Sumter

    Attack on Fort Sumter
    The Union Soldiers opened fire on Fort Sumter at 4:30 am that lead to a 34 hour battle that the confederates at Fort Sumter lost. This battle was the start of the civil war. The only casualty in the battle was a horse.

    Ferdinand Porsche built the first Volkswagen Beetle in 1937 and started production in Wolfsburg, Germany.
  • Mountain Dew Invention

    Mountain Dew was created in 1940 by Barney and Alley Hartman in Tennessee and is now owned by PepsiCo.

    The case was about segregation in schools. So in the end, segregation ended in schools.
  • Death of Elvis

    He died August 10, 1977, taking a dump and he was buried in Forest Hill Cemetary.
  • The First Taco Bell

    Taco Bell was founded by Glen Bell. The first restaraunt opened in 1991 in San Francisco CA. The Taco Bell chain is one of the few that uses Pepsi products.
  • Plan B Skateboard Company

    Established in 1991 and is now owned by Danny Way and Collin McKay. It is headquartered in Costa Mesa, CA.
  • September 11

    The terrorist attack of hitting the twin towers or world trade center was set up b Osama Bin Laden. It caused both buildings to fall down and caused two wars in the Middle East.

    I was born in Lancaster Pennsylvania. Apparently it was a special day. I wouldn't know.
