Walter Raleigh founded Roanoke Island. Roanoke island was by the coast of North Carolina. The settlers vanished in 1590. -
Jamestown was Founded
John Smith founded Jamestown. This colony was the first Englist permanent settlement. -

The House of Burgesses was the first represantive assemembly in the new land. This took place in Jamestown, Virginia. -
