Creation of League of Nations
League of Nations was made at Paris Peace Conference that ended the World War I. The Big 3 from Britain, USSR, and U.S prime ministers and president got together and had a conference. However, it collapsed because the league lacked its own armed force and depended on the Great Powers when taking actions. -

Declaration of United Nations
During the World War II, United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt first used the name "United Nations" when representatives of 26 nations continued fighting together against the Axist Powers. -
Yalta Conference
President Roosevelt, Prime Minister Churchill, and Premier Joseph Stalin declared their solution to establish "a general international organization to maintain peace and security" -
Creation of United Nations Charter
United Nations created with permanent members: USA, UK, France and USSR; to replace League of Nations and stop wars between countries. Representatives of 50 countries met in San Francisco at the UN Conference on International Organization. League of Nations was UN's predecessor organization and the idea was originally suggested by U.S President Woodrow Wilson. However, the League of Nation failed because it had no army to support and make actions to cease conflicts in different countries. -
Universal Declaration of Human Rights
UDHR has inspired a lot of legal international human rights treaties. It represents universal recognition with its broad definition that basic rights and freedoms are inherent to all human beings. This declaration made by UN is a commitment to provide human beings dignity and justice. -

Fight for Namibia Independence
The UN Transition Assistance Group (UNTAG) monitors South Africa's withdrawl and provide electoral assistance. Elections were held in November of the year and Nambia becomes independent on March 1990 with UN's assistance. -
