This preserved the lands to the west to the Native Americans. It forbade commerce with the Indians and restricted white settlers from settling. -
Treaty of Paris
When this was signed, it marked the end of the French and Indian War. Soon after, the British would enter an era of dominance. Although, due to the costs of the war, the British were very bankrupt. -
The Sugar Act
To repay war depts, the Sugar Act was passed by the British Parliament to imposed duties on foreign wines, coffee, textiles, and indigo imported into the colonies. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament and was imposed on all American colonists. It required them to pay a tax on all of the printed paper they used. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was an incident on King Street where British Army soldiers shot and killed several people while under attack by a mob. -
The Tea Act
To prevent bankruptcy, Parliament passed the Tea Act which authorized the company to sell a huge tea surplus directly to the public without payment of duty. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The American Revolutionary War began with this battle. I was known as the “shot heard ’round the world.” Seventy-three British troops were killed and 200 were wounded.
