    French and Indian War
    A war where the northern American colonies fought against the French having Native American tribes supporting behind each group. The war was to determine colonial territory of North America specifically the Appalachian Mountains.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    Ended the French and Indian war where France gave up their territories in North America
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 inhibited colonial expansion and heightened tensions between the colonists and Britain.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    A protest towards the British that had previously added a tax on tea from the Townshend act placed in 1767.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    A series of acts used to punish the colonist because of the Boston Tea Party trying to enforce strictness towards them which wasn't successful since it seemed to be too late.
  • Battles if Lexington and Concord

    Battles if Lexington and Concord
    The first battle fought for independence with Massachusetts colonists not liking British authority ending in an American victory
  • Decloration of Independence

    Decloration of Independence
    The 13 colonies separated from Great Britain and declared their independence
  • Articles of Confederation

    Articles of Confederation
    The written agreement that laid out the authorities of the US's national government following its separation from Great Britain.
  • 2nd Continental Congress

    2nd Continental Congress
    Created a constitutional army so the colonist would have an army front that would meet British military.
  • Signing the Constitution

    Signing the Constitution
    Was to lay out the frame of the nation's federal government and its 3 branches. 39 of the 55 delegates signed the new legislation with the others not signing due to the lack of a bill of rights.
