Missouri Compromise
The Missouri Compromise of 1820 was passed by The United States Congress on May 8th. This allowed Missouri to become a slave state which balances out the number of slave and free states. -
The Compromise of 1850
The compromise of 1850 was created by Henry Clay to solve a problem between the North and Sourth. This was basically a new Fugitive Salve act and limited slavery. Which ended the slave trade in Washington D.C.. -
The Kansas-Nebraska Act
In January 1854, Douglas show a bill that divided the land west of the Missouri into territories. Named Kansas and Nebraska. Now he allow popular sovereignty to determine if slavery was legal or not. Which made people moved all the way out there to make sure it was what they wanted. -
Dred Scott Decision
In 1857, Dred Scott was an enslaved African American. He sued for his freedom in the United States known as Dred Scott v. Sandford. The outcome was determine that property cannot sue for freedom. -
Emancipaction Proclamation 01
In January 1, Abraham Lincoln issued an order which allow all slaves to be free from the Confederate states. This happen because the president wanted unity. -
13th Amendment
The 13th Amendment was passed by the U.S. Constitution on January 31. This completely abolished slavery and would be punished if disobeyed. -
The Compromise of 1877
The compromise of 1877 was a disputed of the 1876 United States presidential election. It was an unwritten deal that settled the dispute. This was also very significant because it allowed the U.S. to take their troops from the south and end the Reconstruction Era.
