    The Cumberland Road
    The Cumberland Road was the first road built by the federal goverment. It ran from Cumberland to Maryland to Wheeling, a town on the Ohio river in present day West Virgiania. construction began in 1815.
  • Erie Canal

    Erie Canal
    The Erie Canal is a canl that ran from albany to Buffalo, New York. Construction began in 1817 and it was scompleted in 1825. The canal cost Billions of dollars, but it proved to be worth the cost.

    Sectionalism: disagreements between the diffrent reigons known as Sectionalism. The Emergence of this is that it made more possibilities for the union.

    John quincy adams was elected in 1824 as president but Andrew jackson won the most popular vote. But Adams made a Corrupt Bargain with Henry Clay. Adams chose clay to be secretary of state. The controversy weakened Adams support.

    The Trail Of Tears was a 800 mile forced walk for the Cherokee indians. The cherokee suffered from many dieses and harsh weather, and hunger. Almost one Fourth of the cherokee indians died on the march.

    Worcester v georgia: the courts ruled that the cherokee nation was a distinct community in which the laws of georgia had no force. The court also stated that only the federal goverment, not the states, had authority over Native americans.

    The Second Seminole war was about the Indian removal act. In the previous years jackson has fought the seminole indians, so he hates them so when he tried to move them they fought back. That was the second Seminole war.

    Shortly After Van Burren took office, the county expericenced the Panic Of 1837 a severe econmic depression. The Panic was a really bad econmic decrease in the U.S.A and it caused the people to panic.
