    This was a federal statue that prohibited activities that restricted interstate commerce and competition, meaning putting a top to monopolies. This fit with the Progressive Era ideals because it strengthened business regulation and made prices lower for passenger and freight rates which was progression towards more fair prices and inclusive.

    The Square Deal
    This was a program created by Theodore Roosevelt to create fairness between American workers by making sure the wealthy and powerful did not take advantage of the small business owner. This fit the Progressive Era ideals because it was promoting fairness and equality.
  • The Conservation Movement

    The Conservation Movement
    This was the first nationwide political movement to help with environmental problems like waste, pollution, resource exhaustion and sustainability for America's future. This aligned with the Progressive Era ideals because it was making a better future and progressing a more healthier environment.
  • The Factory Investigation Commision

    The Factory Investigation Commision
    After a fire broke out in an clothing company in New York that was overcrowded the fire had killed 146 workers. People were concerned about the safety of these companies which is why this investigating Commission was made to recommend ways to improve the protection of workers. This aligned with Progressive Era because it was finally time to look after workers and improve their conditions and safety for the future, building better jobs.
  • The Sixteenth Amendment

    The Sixteenth Amendment
    This amendment gave Congress the power to lay and collect taxes without regarding to any census and to pay off national debt. It fits with the Progressive Era ideals because they felt that everyone should pay taxes which aligned with the ideals because it created this sense of equality and better helped the government.
  • The Seventeenth Amendment

    The Seventeenth Amendment
    This amendment divided and kept the government fair by letting the general public choose the senators rather than the state legislatures. This fit with the Progressive Ideals because it showed how the general public was upset with the government and how it was established and did something about it.
  • The Clayton Antitrust Act

    The Clayton Antitrust Act
    This was a legislative act passed that prohibited actions that might stop competition such as tying agreements, predatory pricing, and mergers. This fit with the Progressive Era ideals because it stopped companies from prying at one another in toxic environments creating more reasonable companies and no problems for the future.

    The Federal Trade Commission Act
    This was a legislative act passed that prevented unfair methods of deceptive acts and competition that affected commerce. This aligned with the Progressive Era ideals because it kept things and built more fair commerce for the future.
  • The Eighteenth Amendment

    The Eighteenth Amendment
    This amendment was made to put a stop to the over-excessive use of alcohol that was corrupting politics/ the government. This fit with the Progressive Era ideals because it was seen as a way to better improve their society.
  • The Nineteenth Amendment

    The Nineteenth Amendment
    This amendment gave women the right to vote in the United States of America. It fit with the Progressive Ideals because it finally gave women the right to have some jobs in the government as well as had more opportunities to vote and this one huge step forward to equality and towards building a more inclusive government. Therefore a more ideal and progressive government.
