    Soldiers were willing to go to war against France and risk their lives. They were motivated by praise and peace to come.  Napoleon was willing to send his soldiers to war and if the soldiers are in trouble then he is willing to risk his life for them. He believed in peace and equity.

    They were willing to fight against countries they did not want to fight, they waited long cold hours in hopes for better days. So they were willing to go to war and potentially kill themselves for peace.

    In the speech they were willing to accept a two state solution and they recognized Israel's right to exist, they did not want to fight and the only thing they were hoping for in the end was peace. They wanted to extend an olive branch because they see themselves as freedom fighters.
