    Publishing of Common Sense
    Thomas Paine's pamplet "Common Sense" was a very important document. It advocated for the independence of the Thirteen Colonies from Britain. It sold approximately the same number of copies as the popluation of the time. This document can be credited for the needed leap to the independence of America.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was the official statement that declared the freedom of the thirteen colonies from Britian. It was drafted by Thomas Jefferson. This started the Revolutionary War and the date of its draft is still celebrated today.
  • Articles of Conferation Ratified

    Articles of Conferation Ratified
    The Articles of Conferation was the constitution of the American states. It limited the executive branch, the government and bunch more. It was a failure because of its limiting of power. It was written before the end of the Revolutionary War to show other nations that the colonies had a plan.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris of 1783 ended the Revolutionary War between the Thirteen Colonies and Britian. It gave the Americans the rights they desired and officially made them an independent nation.
  • Land Ordiance of 1785

    Land Ordiance of 1785
    The Land Ordiance of 1785 was the only thing that the Articles of Conferation did correct. It's system of dividing land helped shape America and is still used today.
  • Shay's Rebellion

    Shay's Rebellion
    This rebellion was a rebellion started by farms in Massachusetts because of the foreclosure of lands. It was led by Revolutionary War veteran Daniel Shay and consisted of 4,000 Rebels.
