  • Anti-Federalists

    Those who did not agree with federalists and the constitution.
  • Democratic-Republicans

    Formed by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, they opposed federalist beliefs and their central policies.
  • Jacksonian Democrats

    Led by president Andrew Jackson, gave greater rights to citizens, and opposed any sign or aristocracy. More democratic.
  • Party of Lincoln (republicans)

    Emphasised keeping union together.
  • Roosevelt Democrats

    Believed in revolutionary economic and social welfare programs.
  • Modern republicans

    Economic driven, conservatives, major line between liberals. (Trump)
  • Modern Democrats

    More social driven, focus on social issues and not ideal economic programs. (Bernie)
